We, at YMI, hope this note finds you and yours safe and healthy in this time of uncertainty in the world.
We have heard the phrase “unprecedented times” quite a bit over the last several months. There are a few organizations that have risen to the challenge of these “unprecedented times.” The Youth Ministry Institute is one of them. Beginning in 2005 YMI has helped hundreds of ministry leaders develop expertise. In a time of social isolation and media messages fostering fear and anxiety, young people are experiencing this pandemic in ways that may change the course of their lives forever.
YMI is on the frontline of resourcing children and youth ministry leaders to make the essential changes so that our children and youth experience love and hope and connection. Since March 15th YMI quickly adapted to meet the new challenges churches across the globe are facing by:
- Being the first to convene digital gatherings of ministry leaders with over 100 participating in a four-day span
- Writing and producing new resources for continuing ministry in quarantine
- Fulfilling requests for access to these resources from over 1000 churches in one week
- Increasing YMI’s digital reach by over 500% so that all of this great content reaches increased numbers of ministry leaders, thereby having a positive impact on young people
- Engaging experts to blog and be interviewed about pressing topics, such as sustaining ministry and the importance of mental health
- Preparing to launch an online learning platform
- Introducing a new podcast, Making Sense of Ministry
YMI is up to the challenge. The church needs support. Now we need you. We are looking for 200 partners to give $20 monthly to the Youth Ministry Institute to continue responding to the needs of the local church in this critical time. Your manageable and sustainable gift will reach far beyond YMI, impacting generations of young people. YMI is nimble enough, with all the right resources to help. We invite you to join us.
